Meander out of the campground through spectacular Ponderosa, lodge Pole Pine and Aspen Forests along the Williamson River on horse back or carriage while enjoying vistas of the surrounding peaks and wildlife.

The footing is always great with "pummy soil"
which drains quickly while soft but firm on bare feet.

The Sky lakes Wilderness Area (116,300 acres) is a short 1/2 hour trailer ride to the trail head from Happy Trails Cowboy Campground.

There are three major lake basins connected by many trails, and the Pacific Crest Trail traverses the Wilderness area from Crater Lake National Park to Oregon Highway 140 crossing over 35 miles of spectacular preserved landscape.
